Following their debut at this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF), two new brands—“CMPT by Lichen” and “Karimoku Re:issue by LICHEN”—will launch across Japan and internationally on Wednesday, August 13. To mark the release, the exhibition “New Tradition” will be held at Isetan Shinjuku Main Store from August 13 (Wed) to August 19 (Tue), featuring selected pieces from both collections in a dedicated pop-up installation.

From Tuesday, August 19, key items from each brand will be on permanent display at the KARIMOKU RESEARCH CENTER. Both brands will be available through Karimoku Furniture’s authorized dealers nationwide.

Karimoku New Standard (KNS) is pleased to introduce a new upholstery option: “RE:DENIM,” crafted in collaboration with the Japanese fashion brand Factelier, known for its deep commitment to quality craftsmanship and ethical manufacturing. This new upholstery option is available across the entire KNS collection.

This exhibition also featured the Karimoku Re:issue by LICHEN, a project born from Lichen’s discovery of discontinued designs in Karimoku Furniture’s archives during a visit to their headquarters in Aichi, Japan, in March 2024. Alongside this, CMPT by Lichen was unveiled as a new furniture concept designed specifically for compact urban living. The installation explored how furniture can seamlessly combine design and functionality within small spaces, reflecting Lichen’s curatorial vision and the shared values of modularity, tactility, and thoughtful design.
